The Brooke County Museum strives to preserve and present Brooke County from 1797 to the present. Artifacts representing industry, early education and pioneer life are displayed in a manner to allow a "step back in time". The Museum is housed in an original 1794 Tavern and Inn located beside the old Wellsburg Wharf. The Inn provided lodging for many early riverboat travelers.
Visit the past and view artifacts that local ancestors used in every day life.
Hours: April - October, Friday and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or by appointment. Admission fee is by donation.
Special tours of the County Museum can be arranged by calling 737-0506 or 737-0240. Brooke County Museum is located at 600 Main Street in Wellsburg.
