THE LLOYD FAMILY: T M Lloyd was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, in March 1829. His father, William Lloyd, removed to Wellsburg a few years after. Our subject attended the public schools of Wellsburg, but at quite an early age he went into a dry goods and grocery story as clerk, where he remained about one year, when, on account of his health, he quit the store and went to the county and lived on a farm with his uncle for about four years, when he again returned to Wellsburg and entered the mercantile business, in which he has ever since been engaged. In 1867 he was appointed post master and served about three years and resigned. He now keeps a variety store, consisting of fancy goods and notions and is doing a good business.

JOHN W LLOYD: was born in Jefferson county Ohio, attended school at Steubenville and at Wellsburg. After leaving school he commenced to learn the trade of making chairs with his father. In 1856 he went to Clinton county, Iowa, where he remained about one yeas, when he returned to Wellsburg and formed a partnership with his father, in the furniture business in which he continued until his father's death, when he formed a partnership with Hugh Barth in the same business. He bought Mr. Barth's interest and is now running the business alone.
