     OBED GREEN was born in Chester county, PA, October 1775 and came to Brooke county in the fall of 1819, and settled on the farm now owned by Mrs. Wilson. He served in the war of 1812 for two years in the cavalry. Served in the capacity of "dispatch rider" between the army and Baltimore. His brother Eli Green was also in the war; he is still living in this county at a very advanced age. Obed Green reared a family of eleven children, all of whom are dead, except the two oldest. Was a member of the M E church.
