     SAMUEL GEORGE was born in Washington county PA. May 22, 1827, but came to Brooke county W VA with his father in 1832. Was educated in the common schools, which were then supported by subscription. He came to Wellsburg in 1852, and engaged in the grocery business. Was married in the year 1854 to Miss Elenora Miller, of Wellsburg. His wife died in 1856, and in 1857 he married Miss Eliza Kimberland. In 1860 he engaged in the wool business successfully and at that this time is operating in the same business in connection with banking. In 1871 he established the Bank of Wellsburg, which he is successfully carrying on at the present time. In the wool trade he frequently handles 500,000 pounds per year, and is recognized as one of the principal buyers
